Background

I began painting in acrylics in 1990 / 1991 when in my late teens, but very quickly moved onto oils.

My work has moved through various phases involving much experimentation (which of course still continues).

Although most of my work is figurative in nature, I have experience of abstract painting and now have a growing concern with the fusion of realism and abstraction.

I really do believe that art in any form is one of the most profound things you can do and oil painting to me is one of the greatest of all.
